Position:Sr. Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales): New York
Description: The solutions consulting team augments Savvis Sales as a Support/Solution Development entity and as such works with Savvis customers to offer ideation around optimization and enhancement of their infrastructure architecture in the areas of Cloud Adoption (Private/Public), DR Enablement, Infrastructure Automation and Orchestration and Server Virtualization.
The candidate must be able to travel regionally (up to 50%), comfortable in preparing customer deliverables (technical architectures, presentations, papers etc.) for Savvis customers and should be someone who quickly learns Savvis product offerings.
Position Responsibilities:
* SME and solution engineer intwoof the following critical infrastructure technology areas:
* Provide pre-sales & pursuit support for the region including:
* Create white papers and represent Savvis at strategically important Cloud Computing industry events
* Mentor and help broaden practice members knowledge of specific cloud technology/process subject matter areas.

* Infrastructure(Private Cloud Architecture, Virtualization, Automation & Orchestration). This individual should have a broad and generalized understanding of infrastructure components (Server, Storage and Networking).
* Application Documentation, Placement and Migration(Initially profiling, remediation, migration, but could also include cloud application development).can be an infrastructure expert with a heavy apps background
* DR EnablementKnowledge of DR solutions that automate DR failover of applications and infrastructure. A working knowledge of SAN replication, DB replication is also necessary.
* Storage Optimization:Knowledge of Cloud Storage (object level), Storage Tiering, Storage Deduplication and Virtualization.

* Staying engaged with the Sales team throughout the pursuit life-cycle
* Qualifying pursuits / opportunities
* Maintaining Opportunity pipeline
* Developing RFP responses
* Creating SOWs
* Creating Marketing & Pre-sales collateral working closely with offering owners
* Engaging the right SMEs for the pursuit
Required skills:
* Strong teaming skills, works well across complex organization and drives collaboration
* Hands on Experience in two of the following:
* 10+ years experience working with one or more top consulting or industry firms (finance and media) in a consultative capacity
* Significant experience leading complex work streams within major technical project/consulting engagements
* 3+ years experience in Infrastructure Optimization in the area of Utility Computing, server/storage virtualization, automation and orchestration
* Strong communicator with excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Enjoys working with customers and external audiences
