•Assist VP, Global Tax with tax planning, international tax, global consolidated tax provision, transfer pricing, IRS audits, SAP global tax management, oversight of global tax function, and special projects. •Manage, coach, and develop Senior Tax Accountant •Manage the preparation and review of federal consolidated and all state/local income tax returns, including information returns for foreign subsidiaries and earnings & profits calculations. •Manage state tax audits (income tax and sales/use tax), including direct contact with tax examiners, discussions of tax issues, negotiations and settlements •Responsible for compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley procedures •Foreign subsidiary tax compliance function (Canada and Switzerland – 6 companies) •Responsible for managing U.S., Canada & Switzerland income tax accounting •Assists with the worldwide effective tax rate calculations (budget, forecast, and actual year-end) •Performs tax research and manages special projects as required •Assists with international tax management •Assists with federal tax audit; interfaces with Internal Revenue Service field auditors •Deputy to VP, Global Tax; steps up to cover during absences, steps up to learn all phases of top management role.
Job Requirements :
•Required: BS Accounting •Required: CPA and/or MS in Taxation from an accredited university •8-10+ years tax experience, public accounting/private industry mix. •Strong U.S. federal, state/local tax compliance background. •Strong tax accounting (FAS 109 and FIN 48) experience. •Strong U.S. sales tax compliance experience. •Understanding of Europe VAT compliance. •International tax experience; ability to progress in this highly complex area. •Ability to work in a fast paced environment with constantly shifting priorities •Ability to directly prepare workpapers and tax planning analyses •Ability to interface with senior management and to present complex tax plans in simple terms •Ability to interface with diverse external tax advisors and tax auditors and internal departments, including internal audit, diplomatically and professionally. •Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, oral and written communications skills required •Knowledge of SAP a plus
