Roles/ Responsibilities
Senior environmental, health & safety counsel who will work with Koch companies to provide compliance advice regarding existing EH&S regulatory requirements and will provide strategic advice on emerging issues. This role requires substantive expertise in a broad range of EHS regulatory issues and media, and in addition to regulatory compliance and emerging issues will include a focus on permitting, transactions, complex enforcement matters and investigations. This role will require interaction with manufacturing facilities and operations and business personnel, as well as interaction with regulators and effective management of outside counsel.
Work Experience/ Skills REQUIRED
8 years legal experience
Expertise in various EH&S regulatory areas, including CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA and OSHA
General experience in environmental, health and safety compliance counseling
Good thinking skills
Ability to collaborate and work well with internal and external stakeholders, including operations and business personnel, compliance personnel, business lawyer, and public sector personnel
Possesses and demonstrates high integrity and ethical conduct
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Work Experience/ Skills PREFERRED
Expertise in various transportation regulatory areas, including PHMSA, FRA, and FMCSA requirements, with concentration on shipper obligations for transportation by truck or rail.
Expertise in various security regulatory areas, including DOT, MTSA, CFATs, C-TPAT.
Education REQUIRED JD from an accredited law school Member of state bar in good standing
