Position Summary:
 
Deloitte Tax's Multistate Tax Services ("Multistate Tax") team is the largest state and local tax practice in the United States, with more than 1,000 professionals nationwide. These professionals include former state tax auditors and administrators, industry personnel, tax practitioners, accounting specialists, and technology personnel with numerous years of multistate tax experience. Collectively, our team has significant experience with the requirements and nuances of jurisdictions in all 50 states. Multistate Tax professionals help our clients manage state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of tax audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Our specific services include business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, property tax, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy.
 
We are currently seeking a Multistate Tax Senior Manager to join our practice.  Multistate Tax Senior Managers use their experience in accounting and taxation to provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. They must be familiar with the tax consulting process and the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients' tax needs. In addition, they direct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies and perform tax reviews.  Multistate Tax Senior Managers will have responsibility for engagement budgeting, billing, and scheduling. They also have responsibility for the development and motivation of all engagement staff and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.
 
Multistate Tax Senior Managers draft and assist in the delivery of proposals for engagements and are knowledgeable about the range of services offered. Candidates should have extensive technical experience with a focus in a particular industry a plus.  Multistate Tax Senior Managers provide leadership in a timely fashion and provide quality service delivery which aim to exceed the expectations of our clients.
 
- 7 or more years of public accounting experience, preferably within the Big 4, or an equivalent in a law firm
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business related field required, an advanced degree is preferred
- CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification required.
