    Summary:

    Consolidated ElectricalDistributors, Inc. (CED), one of the largest and fastest growing wholesale electricaldistribution companies in the country, has an opening in our Irving, Texas,office for an entry-level Legal Assistant. This is a new positionresulting from CED's continuing growth and additional responsibilities recentlytaken on by the Legal Department. The LegalAssistant will report to the Assistant General Counsel and will provideadministrative and project-specific support to team members within alldepartments that report to CED's General Counsel: Legal, Personnel Assessment, Real Estate,Loss Control, and Fleet.

    Reports to: Assistant General Counsel

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Experienceshould include a record of successful completion of complex projects with minimalsupervision.

    • Must exhibit good judgment as wellas exemplary verbal and written language skills, including the ability toindependently gather, analyze, curate, and summarize data in a readilyunderstandable format.

    • Must have a strong work ethic and beable to multi-task effectively, occasionally in a high-stress environment.

    • Must possess outstandingorganizational skills and show a strong attention to detail.

    • Must be able to effectively manage manytime-sensitive, daily tasks while simultaneously accomplishing long-termprojects in a timely manner.

    • Must be competent with Word, Excel,Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

    • Must display a high-level ofprofessionalism and the ability to forge positive working relationships bothinside and outside the organization.

    • Must be serviceoriented. All Legal Department staff support Field management and,consequently, must demonstrate servant leadership to be successful within CED'sorganizational structure.

    • Must demonstrate a strong sense ofintegrity and ethics.

    • Successful candidate must have goodreferences, pass pre-employment drug test and background check, as well as bewilling to participate in pre-employment assessments.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • One to two years of prior work as a legal assistant,paralegal or legal secretary, or substantially equivalent experience.

    • Bachelor'sor Associate's degree with a strong academic record.

    • Notary Public (or willing and eligible tobecome one).

    Working Conditions:

    This position operates in aprofessional office environment which may require sitting for extended periods.

    Essential Job Functions:

    In conjunction with the senior LegalDepartment Paralegal, cover all Paralegal/Legal Assistant duties including, butnot limited to the following:

    • Serve as front-line matter intake professional, with themandate to either handle matters quickly or route them to the appropriateperson for prompt handling;

    • Assist in the process of administering and trackingrevisions to CED's internal policies and procedures;

    • Complete complex projects, as assigned, to support the LegalDepartment's goals and responsibilities;

    • Administer the CED employee hotline;

    • Collect and record eligibility data in CED's backgroundcheck system;

    • Collect and deliver candidate assessment data to hiringmanagers;

    • Administer the Legal Department homepage on CED's intranet,ensuring that all content is accurate and current;

    • Administer all online legal resources such as training, formtemplates, and legal guidance documents developed by the Legal Department forCED personnel;

    • Assist the Corporate Secretary in the preparation, filingand maintenance of annual minutes and board resolutions;

    • Prepare, file and maintain fictitious business nameregistrations throughout the US;

    • Handle routine service of process to the appropriatebusiness unit;

    • Handle subpoena responses;

    • Answer Legal Department phone calls live, as opposed to viavoicemail, whenever possible;

    • Organize and maintain legal files;

    • Handle mailing and overnight deliveries;

    • Order and maintain Legal Department supplies;

    • Process invoices;

    • Assist with travel arrangements, expense report filing, andcheck requests; and

    • Handle copying, scanning, and faxing of documents.

    • Assist other departments that report to the company'sGeneral Counsel such as Real Estate, Loss Control, Personnel Assessment, andFleet as needed.
