Responsibilities
As a Paralegal at MSKCC, you will support the Associate General Counsels and outside law firms in handling actual and potential claims as well as perform a broad range of legal support functions. Responsibilities include assisting in the production and verification of documents for discovery, providing timely notice of claims to MSKCC¿s insurance carriers for potential and actual claims, managing the release of information regarding individual practitioner¿s insurance coverage and claims history, assisting counsels in the preparation and review of contracts, conducting medical and legal research and orienting, training, and supervising legal staff.
Qualifications
The motivated candidate we seek for this rewarding position must be computer savvy ¿ including proficiency with MS Office. Furthermore, the candidate must be organized, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to maintain the confidentiality of privileged data pertaining to professional liability claims and other sensitive matters. Minimum of an Associate¿s degree with 2-3 years of experience in a legal office required. Bachelor¿s degree and prior health care experience are preferred.
