Export Control Lead BAER (Business Area Export Rep)

Hamilton Sundstrand's Air Management Systems (AMS) business unit is seeking a Export Control/Lead BAER(Business Area Export Representative). As a direct report to the Vice President and General Manager of AMS the selected incumbent will:
- Manage export compliance for the HS Air Management Systems (AMS)organization, including compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Support all customer requests, including approval of export classification requests, obtaining Technical Assistance Agreements/Manufacturing Licensing Agreements and related hardware licenses.
- Lead export control jurisdiction and classification for parts working with expertise from engineering and operations.
- Establish/improve standard work to ensure that import/export regulations are fully considered in all critical functions throughout AMS.
- Conduct export compliance training and answer day-to day export compliance questions.
- Conduct audits and lead root cause/corrective action investigations for all non compliances. Ensure potential violations are identified, investigated and disclosed as required; implement corrective actions, keep top-level management apprised of all significant open matters.
- Coordinate efforts with Import/Export Control & Management (IECM) and other Lead BAER working groups to improve compliance programs throughout HS.
- Lead the full and part time BAER network for AMS; provide support through regular meetings and communication of critical needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required / MS/MA/MBA and or JD preferred
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of working experience required
IND. EXP: Aerospace, Defense, Government, Space, Energy, Manufacturing, Industrial, Import/Export
Masters degree and/or JD preferred.
Required Skills Include:
- In depth knowledge of HS and/or aerospace products and organization.
- Proficient ability for details as well as ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Proven effective utilization of ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence)/quality/process improvement tools to drive process improvement.
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, and a "team player".
- Strong leadership skills to effectively work with key stakeholders and other lead BAERs from other HS organizations/entities.
Air Management Systems (AMS) is a leading supplier of air conditioning systems (air cycle and vapor cycle), liquid cooling systems, temperature control systems, pressurization control systems, ventilation control systems, electric fans, ice protection, humidification and fuel tank (NGS)inerting systems.

Successful candidate must be a self starter; an effective communicator (written & verbal), posses strong analytical and problem solving skills; possess strong computer skills (JD Edwards knowledge is a plus); able to manage both internal and external customers, work well under time constraints and in a fast-paced dynamic program environment.
Candidate will support company ACE initiatives, including standard work and business financial goals.
Business team participation in a matrix organizational structure is expected.
This position also has a dotted line to the Associate General Counsel for Export Control (Legal Department).
