Division Demand Planning ManagerThe key responsibilities will be: • Manage a team that will assemble, analyze and make adjustments to all data pertinent to creating the demand forecast: historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, financial budgets and inventory levels. Will need to gather, analyze and validate data, review resulting statistical forecast models. • Ensure that forecasts and inventory measurements are prepared, reported, and communicated to the Integrated Business Planning Manager w/in Global Ops and Division management. Ensure appropriate communication is provided back to the division. • Collaborate with marketing and new product development teams to define launch strategy and manage product life cycle implications to demand and inventory. • Present recommendations for product rationalization to Executive Management. • Ensure that visibility is provided to the supply chain on expected demand or events through the demand signaling process. • Review KPIs to proactively identify misalignment between sales, demand, and supply chain capacity with relevant team to address and close gaps. • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing and finance personnel (Divisional IBP and Executive IBP meetings). • Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence. • Achieving customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and inventory metrics for its division. • Lead and oversee a wide range of processes including: short and long term sales and operations planning, long-term capacity planning and process improvements. • Serve as the primary leadership contact for Marketing, Sales, R&D and Finance business partners from its Division, and also as the primary contact for the Global Operations Integrated Business Planning Manager and Plant Network. • Must lead and participate in the development, modification and improvement of procedures, policies and processes within the organization.
Qualifications/Work Experience
EXPERIENCE • At least 7 years of business experience and a minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain management, logistics, Operations or related fields are required. • Prior experience in managing by influence across multiple teams/groups across an organization. • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required. • Experience with new product introductions, process improvements, product/demand planning, and ERP systems are required.
QUALIFICATIONS • A proven track record of strong people management skills, building talented teams and driving engagement. • Strong negotiation & influencing skills with the ability to drive results through a global matrix structure is required. • Excellent communication and presentation skills with prior experience presenting to senior level executives is required. • Must have strong analytical / quantitative skills, excellent communication, and demonstrated strength in interdependent partnering and team management. • Ability for decision making, to work under time pressure, accuracy, prioritization and capacity to make good judgment on special situations. • High sense of team work and customer service orientation. • Must be challenged by a team-based environment which places a high degree of emphasis on accountability for customer service levels, inventory management, cost reduction and quality / FDA compliance
Education and/or Special Training
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, Life Sciences, Engineering or equivalent is required. An MBA is highly preferred. • Leadership experience with inventory, planning, order management and MRP computer systems are required. Prior experience with demand planning tools like Oracle Demantra, Demand Solutions or SteelWedge is a plus. • Fluency in English. Fluency in a second language at international divisions is a plus. • APICS certification is preferred. Must have understanding of end to end supply chain interactions and interdependencies. Lean Manufacturing Training is also preferred. Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools, training and/or certification experience is highly preferred. • Must have knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues. • An understanding of the business operations is required.
