    Position Specific Description The Paralegal is a member of the Corporate Secretary Group of the Law Department. The position reports to the Managing Attorney, Subsidiary Governance and is part of a team of corporate governance professionals. The Paralegal works on the management and implementation of the company's growing complex organizational structure, which currently consists of 1550 US and foreign subsidiaries. The Paralegal provides high level support in complex and confidential legal areas relating to subsidiary management, corporate actions and transactions. The Paralegal works independently, manages a wide variety of responsibilities, but knows how to identify matters requiring escalation or special attention, and must have a demonstrated ability to interact and communicate appropriately and professionally with management and company employees at all levels. The Paralegal is a highly diligent and self-directed worker with the ability to prioritize effectively, work under pressure, handle multiple projects and meet numerous competing and urgent deadlines. The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Work Share Compare and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with a legal entity management database, Visio, WorkSite, PowerPoint or SharePoint is preferred. Prior experience with public companies, the energy industry, complex corporate structures and international subsidiaries is preferred. This job requires exceptional organizational, proofreading, written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail. We are looking for a team player, a solutions-oriented and collaborative member of our group. The Paralegal must have flexibility to work outside business hours on occasion, particularly during the last three months of the year.

    Employees in this position are responsible for providing paralegal support to the company and for the attorneys within the law department. Job Duties & Responsibilities

    Under limited supervision:

    • Drafts and edits legal documents based on edits and input from corporate attorneys
    • Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported
    • Performs legal and transaction related research
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Grad / GED
    • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
    • Experience: 0+ years

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Paralegal Certification
