Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Corporate Counsel with a strong aptitude for business, and experience in general commercial and corporate law. This is a great opportunity to manage all legal aspects of our business while helping guide future growth initiatives. We are a long-term focused business, and you will help bring the discipline and knowledge to our legal department to ensure we continue to prosper in the years ahead. The Corporate Counsel reports directly to the CEO, and participates as a member of the senior management team in strategically and tactically leading our growing company.
Responsibilities
Advising and supporting senior management
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
Advising the company on employment matters
Supporting and advising business groups including business development, technology, and sales and marketing
Resolving and negotiating disputes
Managing outside counsel with regard to litigation
Managing the company’s intellectual property
Requirements
JD from an accredited law school, with strong academic performance
3+ years of experience in a large law firm or 8+ years in a midsize corporation, preferably general corporate and transactional focused
Excellent drafting skills
Excellent communications and inter-personal skills
Experience working with information service companies
