Chief Compliance Officer
The New York Liquidation Bureau (“NYLB” or “Bureau”) is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”). The NYLB carries out the duties of the Superintendent of Insurance of the State of New York as the court-appointed statutory receiver of impaired or insolvent insurance companies.
The CCO is responsible for ensuring that the policies and procedures of the NYLB comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations (including the NYS Public Officers Law), that all Bureau dealings with outside parties (including vendors) are fair and impartial, and that conflicts of interest are avoided. The CCO also oversees the Bureau’s fraud investigations, internal audit and emergency preparedness/continuity of operations functions.
Required Knowledge/Experience:
Duly admitted and licensed to practice law in the State of New york
15 years relevant experience; including significant experience in a managerial capacity.
Insurance or financial services industry and/or regulatory experience preferred.
Familiarity with the NYS Public Officers Law preferred.
Experience investigating ethics issues.
Experience overseeing bidding procedures and vendor-relations policies.
Familiarity with the NYS Insurance law, particularly Articles 74, 75, 76 and 77, preferred.
