Associate Paralegal (Compliance)
You will provide legal support and assist professional legal staff in the Corporate Compliance Department with the preparation of documents and filings for compliance with rules, regulations and laws of various local, state and federal governmental agencies. You will record and track compliance projects, monitor list of outstanding compliance and regulatory matters and keep staff on task.
Additional Responsibilities include:
. Collecting and collating information required from a wide variety of sources . Performing research and analysis on supporting data and information needed regarding various business issues of the organization . Participating in the research and preparation of pleadings, court forms, reports as well as contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate and other matters . Helping implement established compliance guidelines and legal review procedures . Providing day-to-day support, as needed, to regulatory and compliance staff/counsel . Managing or assisting with special projects for the Compliance Department as needed. Job Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Paralegal Certificate and up to 3 years of Paralegal experience within a large public company in a regulated industry (preferably the real estate/mortgage/insurance/banking or title industry). Experience with tracking projects and being able to tactfully keep others on task is a must. Working knowledge of the law library, state and federal regulations, code sections, and legal decisions required.
PC Proficiency with intermediate skills in Excel. Some familiarity with MS Visio a plus.
